---Welcome!

We believe & teach that there is only ONE God, ONE faith & ONE Savior, Jesus Christ.

Living Water Church is a place where where you will encounter spiritual truths and get answers to some questions that we all wrestle with in a safe and welcoming environment. Come and experience what’s happening at Living Water Church!

It all began on Sunday, January 1, 1978

Over 41 years ago, Living Water started out as a Prayer Meeting in Frank & Phyllis Dupree’s living room in Laurel, NY on Long Island’s east end. Soon, the church grew, and on January 1, 1978, we moved into a storefront building in Jamesport, NY.

Praise & Prayer October

On Friday, October 25th we’ll gather together Praise & Prayer.

We believe that Praise & Prayer go hand in hand and that great things happen when we do them as a group.

There’s an old song that says “It was prayer that got us here…”
At Living Water Church we believe that, prayer is our lifeline to heaven and we want to see God’s Kingdom come and His will be done on earth just as it is in heaven. That’s how Jesus taught us to pray and we’ll be doing that on 10/25.

We’ll be looking for you to join with us because we’re better together.

Try Again

We’re so glad you’ve decided to spend part of your day with us at Living Water Church. We pray that the message will inspire and encourage you to be all you can for Christ. Today we’re talking about the Never Giving Up (on what’s right & good) – The point is this…things may look or feel hopeless BUT if God is behind it you should get in step with Him and keep trying…

Thank you for your support of Living Water Church

Luke 5:1-11NKJV

1 So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret, 2 and saw two boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing their nets. 3 Then He got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat. 4 When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” 5 But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” 6 And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. 7 So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. 8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!” 9 For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish which they had taken; 10 and so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid. From now on you will catch men.” 11 So when they had brought their boats to land, they forsook all and followed Him.

TRY AGAIN
Sunday, October 13, 2019
Pastor George M. Dupree

Luke 5:1 So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret, 2 and saw two boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing their nets. From now on you will catch men.”11 So when they had brought their boats to land, they forsook all and followed Him.

Jesus sees two boats by the seashore; the men left the boats and are cleaning their nets after a long night of fruitless fishing. Jesus gets into Peter’s boat and preaches for a while, afterwards He says to Simon “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”

This was an interruption for Simon: he was busy, he had to get the nets prepared for the next time he’s go fishing. What’s your reaction when the Lord interrupts your day?
He told Simon to TRY AGAIN – He knew he caught nothing all night but He said try again. With that “launch out” He also told him there would be a catch.

Maybe Simon didn’t want to do it, he was busy and tired but he said “nevertheless”. We don’t know exactly why he said yes, maybe he felt like it, maybe he thought if he did it he’d get rid of this preacher, who knows but the fact is he did it. And when he did he got the surprise of his life, a catch so big he needed another boat to help bring it in. They filled both boats with so much fish that they both began to sink!

Simon said NEVERTHELESS – Regardless of my experience today, regardless of my feelings or what I think, I’ll do it. Perhaps God just touched him and he decided to trust, to obey.

We read that obedience releases the gift of the Holy Spirit
Acts 5:32 We are here to tell you about all this, and so is the Holy Spirit, who is God’s gift to everyone who obeys God.

For Simon last night was a setback, but it turned into a setup.
And we know that all things work together for good! – Romans 8:28

Maybe you tried so hard and so many times and you’ve not seen the results you wanted, don’t give up – TRY AGAIN

Anybody can quit but NOT YOU; you’re better than that, you’re more than a conqueror, you can do all things through Christ.

Losers focus on what they’re going through, winners focus on what they’re going to. The Bible declares that we are going from glory to glory, agree with the Word and see it come to pass in your life.

What you’re going through today is the vehicle that’ll bring you into the plan from God for you.

When we say yes we put our trust in the Lord – Here’s some promises concerning trusting
† Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

† Psalms 125:1 Those who trust in the LORD are as secure as Mount Zion; they will not be defeated but will endure forever.

† Psalms 37:3 Trust in the LORD and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. 4 Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires. 5 Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you.

Don’t Give Up – Try Again
† Galatians 6:9 So don’t get tired of doing what is good. Don’t get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time.

Matthew 26:39 He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”

When Simon said nevertheless nothing was different –

Same Boat –
Same Nets –
Same Lake –

Well, one thing was different – Jesus was in the boat!

I don’t know what you’re facing today. Maybe you’ve toiled a long time with no results, please, try again; don’t give up. If God’s given you a word or a promise from His word hold on, try again and by all means, invite Jesus into your boat.
