---Welcome!

We believe & teach that there is only ONE God, ONE faith & ONE Savior, Jesus Christ.

Living Water Church is a place where where you will encounter spiritual truths and get answers to some questions that we all wrestle with in a safe and welcoming environment. Come and experience what’s happening at Living Water Church!

It all began on Sunday, January 1, 1978

Over 41 years ago, Living Water started out as a Prayer Meeting in Frank & Phyllis Dupree’s living room in Laurel, NY on Long Island’s east end. Soon, the church grew, and on January 1, 1978, we moved into a storefront building in Jamesport, NY.

How To Drift Away

How To Drift Away

Sunday, July 29, 2018 – Pastor George Dupree

Drift – be carried slowly by a current of air or water.

5 Easy Steps To Drift Away

1 – Neglect The Bible

2 – Don’t Listen To God and Godly People – Isolate Yourself

3 – Hang Around With Ungodly People

4 – Neglect Church

5 – Never Be Grateful

Of course these steps are bad advice but if you’d like to ensure a terrible life you’ll want to follow them.

However if you want the abundant life that God promises do the opposite of these.

Hebrews 2:1 We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away

1 – DON’T Neglect The Bible

Psalms 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Psalms 119:130 Understanding your word brings light to the minds of ordinary people.

Psalms 119:160 The entirety of Your word is truth, and every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.

2 – Listen To God and Godly People – Don’t Isolate Yourself

Proverbs 18:1 A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire; he rages against all wise judgment.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

3 – Hang Around With Godly People

1Corinthians 15:33 Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”

Psalms 1:1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

4 – DON’T Neglect Church

Hebrews 10:25 Some people have gotten out of the habit of meeting for worship, but we must not do that. We should keep on encouraging each other, especially since you know that the day of the Lord’s coming is getting closer.

5 – Always Be Grateful

Philippians 4:4   Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

So what do we do when we find our selves drifting away?

Repent & Connect

To repent is to change your mind and when you change your mind you’ll change you direction and when you change your direction you’ll change your life.

James 4:8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Revelation 2:4-5…You have forsaken the love you had at first. 5 Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first…

Sea otter hold hands while they sleep so they don’t drift away – They also wrap themselves in kelp so they stay anchored to the seafloor and don’t drift away.

Think back to when you first got saved, what was it like, what did you do.

The Call To Follow

The Call To Follow & Serve

Matthew 4:18 And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 19 Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”20 They immediately left theirnets and followed Him.

Matthew 4:21 Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the sonof Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them, 22 and immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.

Everyone is called by God to follow Him, not everyone chooses to do so.

These men did and they were also called into a calling to be fishers of men and that was a process.

The call to follow Jesus will not always be convenient.

The call to follow Jesus will not always be in your skill set.

The call to follow Jesus will often be tested.

The call to follow Jesus will always be fulfilling.
